Computer systems installation. Specifying and installing the systems an organization's accounting and administration actually require, and migrating existing records onto them — including the opening balances, which is the step that most often goes wrong.
Software development and maintenance. Building and maintaining applications where an off-the-shelf package does not fit the way an organization works, and supporting them afterwards.
Hardware maintenance. Servicing and supporting the equipment the systems run on.
The advantage of taking this work from an accounting practice is that the people specifying the system are the people who understand what it has to produce: an auditable trail, a chart of accounts that reports properly, and controls that hold when the organization is busy.
